Polk County junior Myles Menetre carded a solid 77, including two birdies on the front nine, to lead the Wolverines in Tuesday’s Mountain Foothills 7 Conference golf match at Connestee Falls Golf Club.
Keyed by Menetre’s strong performance, Polk County finished fourth in the team standings with a score of 330, trailing Hendersonville (307), East Rutherford (317) and R-S Central (327).
Hendersonville won the event, with two Bearcats finishing among the top four individual scores. R-S Central’s Grant Watson earned medalist honors with a 73, followed by Hendersonville’s Bale Pace and East Rutherford’s Jacob Holland, who each shot 74. Bearcat Trey Trantham was a shot back with a 75.
Brody Wilkins provided additional support for the Wolverines with a 79, while Tourin Jackson added an 84. Piercen Edwards and Gage Harden rounded out Polk County’s scoring, each carding 90.
The Wolverines will next compete in the 1A West Regional on Monday at NorthStone Country Club in Huntersville, where they’ll look to qualify for the state 1A championships.
