Those looking for a career that is rewarding, challenging and is something that can make a difference in the community should consider North Carolina Highway Patrol.
The N.C. Highway Patrol is currently seeking applicants who meet the physical and vision requirements, have a clean criminal background and have a high school or higher education level. Applicants must be between the ages of 21-39.
The Highway Patrol is approximately 200 members short across the state. Ten of those openings are in Western North Carolina.
All benefits are effective upon the first day of training. Cadets who graduate the basic school are eligible to return to their home county and can live within 20 miles of the county they are assigned.
The website for the initial application is www.osp.state.nc.us/jobs/. When this is submitted online, applicants will receive the main application via email within a week. The main application needs to be filled out and all other documents submitted to Trooper Metcalf by June 30.
