Polk County’s boys golf team continued their strong spring campaign with a narrow victory in Tuesday’s tri-match at Meadowbrook Golf Course, posting a team score of 176 to edge Chesnee (182) and comfortably outpace Greer Middle Charter (210).
The nine-hole competition featured impressive performances from the Wolverines’ top two golfers, with Tourin Jackson leading the way by carding a 41, tying him for second place individually. Jackson was just one stroke behind medalist Jadon Vest of Greer Middle Charter, who earned top honors with a 40.
Piercen Edwards provided crucial support with a solid round of 43, matching Chesnee’s Caleb Green for the fourth-best individual score of the day. The Wolverines’ depth ultimately proved decisive, as Brody Wilkins contributed a 45 and Myles Menetre rounded out the team’s counting scores with a 47.
Gage Harden (50) and Tanner Osborn (55) also competed for Polk County. The balanced attack from Polk County overcame a strong showing from Chesnee, which was led by Jake Hefner’s 41.
Polk County will conclude its pre-spring break schedule on Thursday, competing against Mountain Foothills 7 Conference schools at Connestee Falls in Brevard.
