Single car accident on Hwy 14

LANDRUM–On Thursday, September 3, shortly after 8:00 a.m., a single car accident occurred on Highway 14, at the intersection of Carpenter Drive in Landrum.
The female driver was traveling westbound on Highway 14 when she struck a culvert pipe on Mountain View Drive. The 2005 Jeep SUV flipped multiple times. The driver was then ejected from the vehicle and pinned underneath it. She was airlifted to Spartanburg Regional by emergency helicopter.
Authorities have not released the identity of the driver but did say she is a resident of Travelers’s Rest.
Officer Levi Bouwkamp arrived on the scene first said there was damage done to the culvert pipe that was struck on Mountain View Drive due to the crash.
Chief Kris Ahler of Landrum Police Department informs that the cause of the wreck is still under investigation.
Her current condition was unknown at press time.
