On Saturday, September 21, Conserving Carolina will be hosting its 19th Conservation Celebration from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Caitlyn Farms in Mill Spring.

An annual event, the Conservation Celebration is the organization’s largest benefit, featuring a pre-event hike, live music by the Jim Peterman Quartet, live and silent auctions, trip raffle drawing, gourmet dinner by Budy Finch Catering & Revelry and bar with local wine and beer. This year, the Celebration will be held in Polk County for the first time.

Established in 2014 by Joseph and Cynthia Miller, Caitlyn Farms was named after their beloved dog Caitlyn. It is an event center and a working cattle farm, home to roughly 200 free range, grass-fed Angus cattle and two retired 18 year old horses. The 500-acre property includes four picturesque lakes and an abundance of wildflower fields where the cows and horses spend their days grazing. Attendees of the Celebration can expect to dine on delectable appetizers while perusing auction items in a glamorous indoor barn. They’ll dine and socialize in the open-air pavilion, with scenic views of the farm and Little White Oak Mountain, a property conserved by Conserving Carolina in 2017.

With an amazing view of the protected land that made Conserving Carolina who it is today, Caitlyn Farms Event Center is a perfect location for the first Conservation Celebration in Polk County. This event celebrates Conserving Carolina’s accomplishments protecting land and water, restoring natural habitat, and connecting people to the land through environmental education and outdoor recreation.
