Improved Downtown Parking in Saluda

Looking for a public parking space in downtown Saluda is now easier thanks to the Saluda Business Association (SBA). After the 2018 rains and snow, the parking lot lost valuable parking places and gained several large potholes.
Since this parking lot is the major venue for artists exhibits, The Saluda Arts Festival CORE Team who organizes the event each year was concerned that the condition of the parking lot would prohibit the number of artists who could exhibit at the Saluda Arts Festival.
The City of Saluda is dealing with several road repairs created by the heavy 2018 rains and snow and could not repair the parking lot until other high priority road repairs were completed. The SBA stepped in and offered to pay for the work. City Manager Jonathan Cannon helped supervise the project and worked with the contractor.
The work done by Blue Ridge Paving and Grading LLC of Saluda required more than 75 tons of materials, 30 tons of stone and 45 tons of asphalt millings. The paving company ensured the many dips at the front of the lots were filled in and asphalt millings packed three inches on top. The SBA paid $3,300 for the repair.
