Despite a school-record eight 3-pointers from Amir Gary, Polk County still dropped an 84-62 decision Monday to A.C. Reynolds in boys basketball action in Fairview.
Gary’s eight 3-pointers, part of a 29-point night, broke the school record of seven set by Larry Fagan in the 1991-92 season and matched by Matt McCallister during the 2000-01 season.
Clark Phipps added 18 points, with Dominique Carson scoring nine, Wesley Royster scoring four and Kiyon Staley adding two.
Tyler Parton finished with 17 points to lead A.C. Reynolds.
Polk County traveled Wednesday to East Henderson for another nonconference game.
