In a ceremony at the June 21 meeting of the Rotary Club of Tryon, Geoff Tennant was inducted into Rotary’s Paul Harris Society. The Paul Harris Award, named for the founder of Rotary International, honors those who make valuable contributions to the ideals of Rotary. In making the award, the club noted that Tennant’s contributions included those of a teacher, coach, school board chair, fire chief and battalion fire chief. In addition, many of the Rotarians gave their praise to Tennant and the many things he has done in service to the entire community. Pictured are, from left, Rotarians Roger Newman and Bill Miller; Tennant; and club president Ken Shull.
