The 2017 Tryon Women’s Golf Association season came to an end Tuesday with another successful campaign in the books. Thirty smiling ladies celebrated a closing day tournament and luncheon at the 101-year-old Donald Ross course at Tryon Country Club. In first place was Peggy Henson, Helen Faber, Hoppy Long, Shelley Alexander (38); in second place was Jennifer Grabosky, Sarah Potter, Frances McCain, Jo Ann Silvia (38) (lost scorecard playoff); in third place was Georganne Murphy, Ann Gargiulo, Anne Connolly, Lib McKeller (40); and closest to the pin on #12 was Jennifer Grabosky.
