There is a program available for veterans that you may be aware of, or may have forgotten about called the Veterans Choice Program. Veterans who are enrolled in the VA health care system may be eligible to use this program. This program was established for veterans who are waiting for an appointment with the VA, but cannot be provided one within 30 days of their preferred date, or the date that is medically determined by their physician, or for the veterans who live more than 40 miles from the closest VA medical facility. 

If one of these circumstances apply to a veteran, call 866-606-8198 to verify eligibility to use the Choice Program card.
