Keith A. Wallace, age 82, of Williamsburg, Virginia, passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2025. He grew up in western Pennsylvania and was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Carol “Sue” Wallace.
Keith received his Bachelor of Arts from West Virginia Wesleyan College, where he was a member of the Kappa Alpha Fraternity. After graduating, he served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. Over the years, Keith had a very successful career in business and retail, working in the Midwest for JCPenney. Later, he worked in marketing at the JCPenney corporate headquarters in NYC and then worked as a store manager in several stores in the New Jersey and New York areas.
Following his retirement in 1997, Keith moved to Tryon, North Carolina, with Sue. They enjoyed many years together there and became involved in the local community. Keith was a volunteer firefighter in Green Creek, North Carolina. He helped write grants for both the Green Creek Volunteer Fire Rescue and the Polk County Public Schools Transportation Department. In September 2021, Keith moved to Williamsburg, Virginia.
Keith enjoyed mowing the lawn and working outdoors. He was often found tinkering in his garage workshop, where he could fix or repurpose anything. He was dependable and always had a “backup” for everything. He enjoyed learning new things and had recently taken up welding. He enjoyed attending estate and garage sales and was known to buy an entire lot for the one antique item he desired. He was an avid Steelers fan and, in recent years, had become a Premier League fan too.
PopPop, as his grandchildren referred to him, was always up for a competitive game of Monopoly or foosball. He enjoyed being their “Uber” driver and was proud to support his grandkids at all of their events.
Keith is survived by his son, Sean Wallace (Daria Darczak); daughters, Kimberly Wallace (Nikolai Andresky), and Kelly Franzone (Peter); grandchildren, Sarah, Jason, Samantha, Catherine, Rufus, and Josephine; and grand-dogs.
