To the editor:

Do you feel like efforts to address climate change are being overpowered by the special interests? Have you ever wondered how to make your voice be heard in this politically divided realm?

Well, Citizens’ Climate Lobby (www.citizensclimatelobby.org) is looking for you! We are a citizen based group working to connect with and influence our members of Congress, as well as to seek passage of a bipartisan climate change solution that bridges the partisan divide.

If you are interested, we’d appreciate your help! We have a strong strategy in place that will enable our North Carolina legislators to respond to the will of the people, and we need more people like you to help implement this strategy, especially businessmen, people of faith, agriculture communities, and students (middle, high, and college age).

First off, we need you to attend McHenry’s town hall, August 10 at 6 p.m. at Polk County Commissioners Chambers in the Womack Building located at 40 Courthouse Street in Columbus, N.C.

And if you want to join a bipartisan group that is positive, empowering, and making true headway with Congress, please email asheville@citizensclimatelobby.org. And remember — politicians don’t create political will, they respond to it!
