Polk County District Court results for May 11

In Polk County District Court on Wednesday, May 11, 2016, with Judge Mack Brittain presiding, 122 cases were heard.

Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.

The following persons were convicted of a crime:

Austin N. Barnes was convicted of possession of schedule II controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, two counts of larceny, no operator’s license, reckless driving to endanger, breaking and or entering and possession of marijuana paraphernalia. Barnes was sentenced to 15 days in jail with credit for time served, 36 months supervised probation, a $200 fine and court costs.

Kimberly Nicole Black was convicted of possession of marijuana up to ½ ounce. Black was fined $25 and court costs.

Marquis Dehavie Brown was convicted of unsealed wine/liquor in passenger area. Brown was fined $25 and court costs.

Joshua Sentrell Cole was convicted of speeding 34 mph in 25 mph zone. Cole was fined $30 and court costs.

Jonathan Daniel Delby was convicted of probation violation. Delby was sentenced to 90 days in jail with credit for 21 days.

Jilian A. Higginbotham was convicted of speeding 74 mph in a 65 mph zone. Higginbotham was fined $30 and court costs.

Jermaine D. Landrum was convicted of possession of marijuana up to ½ ounce. Landrum was fined $25 and court costs.

Tamena Raqui Moltrie was convicted of possession of open container/consumption of alcohol in passenger area. Moltrie was to pay court costs.

Naomi Monette Oliver was convicted of operating a vehicle with improper equipment. Oliver was fined $40 and court costs.

Joshua Peterson was convicted of failure to notify DMV of address change. Peterson was fined $50 and court costs.

Randall Dewey Sheehan was convicted of level five driving while impaired. Sheehan was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, 24 hours of community service, a $100 fine and court costs.

Lewis Aaron Stephen was convicted of speeding 79 mph in a 70 mph zone. Stephen was fined $30 and court costs.

Jacob Homer Thompson was convicted of speeding 74 mph in a 65 mph zone and failure to wear rear seat belt. Thompson was fined $100 and court costs.

Amelia C. Willoughby was convicted of two counts of probation violation. Willoughby was sentenced to 90 days in jail with credit for 26 days.

William Anthony Young was convicted of possession of open container/consumption of alcohol in a passenger area. Young was to pay court costs.
