Tyler Alley, 20, of Hendersonville, N.C. was driving a 1996 Honda Accord west on US Highway 74 at approximately 2 p.m. today when he went toward the center line, over-corrected, ran off the roadway right, spun around and struck a tree.

According to Lt. Nicholas Stott with the Columbus Police Department, speed was a factor. No injuries were sustained by the driver or passenger. Alley was charged with reckless driving.

The Columbus Police Department, North Carolina Highway Patrol and the Columbus Fire Department responded. The Columbus Police Department investigated the collision.
