It was clear from the start that Jim Peterman was the right match for Little Brother Kyle. Fortunately for both, Jim didn’t hesitate, immediately agreeing to become a Big Brother. Jim has been determined to help his Little Brother along life’s path. Kyle’s Mom acknowledges the strength of their bond, saying: “Jim is so important in Kyle’s life. He has so many facets to him and brings all that to Kyle. Jim has the wisdom and perspective to guide Kyle in ways he needs. He helps him with people skills, and introduces him to the right people and experiences to help Kyle grow and learn. Jim relates to him on so many levels and Kyle soaks it up like a sponge! We are very blessed to have Jim in our lives as Big Brother.”
Among other fun activities, Kyle and Jim have enjoyed bowling, movies, hiking, theatre, and music. With graduation approaching, Kyle plans to attend college in the fall. As their 8-year match nears the end, both Big and Little Brother proclaim they are friends for life.
Big Brothers Big Sisters is making a positive impact on children and empowering them to succeed. All of the Littles enrolled in BBBS have expanded opportunities because someone was willing to Start Something Big! BBBS is working with kids right here in Polk County and Landrum, making a difference in their lives and their futures.
