This time of year, freshmen, sophomores and juniors at Polk County High School are thinking about their future, and what path they will take to find a career when they graduate.
To help facilitate this, the Tryon Rotary Club will again host a career fair on Tuesday, Nov. 19, from 8:30-11:15 a.m. in the high school gym. Students will prepare for this with a list of businesses participating and a general list of questions to ask.
The Rotary Club is looking for local business owners to exhibit at this fair so a broad range of jobs can be presented to the students.
This is an excellent community service to help guide the future careers of our youth. The range of categories they are looking for to be represented are agriculture, food and natural resources; architecture and construction; arts, A/V technology and communications; business management and administration; education and training; finance; government and public administration; health science; hospitality and tourism; human services; information technology; law, public safety, corrections and security; manufacturing; marketing; science technology, engineering and mathematics; and transportation, distribution and logistics.
Business representatives will be provided with a table and chairs, and are invited to provide visuals and attention getters. Electricity and Wi-Fi will be available.
If you would like to participate, call Deena Harris at 828-894-2525, or Don Wilson at 828-859-8353.
