Springing into active season
Published 9:57 am Friday, February 25, 2011
By January I find myself longing for spring and the onset of warm weather, by the end of February my anticipation has grown to the point I can hardly contain myself.
March comes and I want to “shout let the games begin!”
There’s something for everyone to enjoy in the warmth of spring. For those who garden it’s time to till the land in preparation for planting. If you don’t have the space or land for a garden there are community gardens.
And sports – lots of sports!
I have heard from several readers that they would like to see more coverage of local sports. We hear you and are adding more sports coverage this season. Watch the Bulletin for news of baseball, softball, soccer, tennis, golf and more.
By the way there is still time to sign up for Cal Ripken/Babe Ruth baseball and softball and spring soccer At Harmon Field in Tryon.
Visit their website at www.harmanfield.com for more details. We’ll look forward to seeing the many players on the fields and wish all a fun season.
Spring also brings warmer water.
Time to pick up your poles and head to your favorite lake or stream for some great fishing. Fishing is one of my favorite past times.
Luckily for me my husband, children and all the grandchildren love to fish too.
We look forward to spending many peaceful days fishing on the water enjoying the tranquil beauty of the area.
If you are a coach, fan, parent or friend and have a great picture of a spring event that you would like to see published in the Bulletin send it to us at: news@tryondaiybulletin.com.
We’ll need your name, the names of the individuals in the picture and a contact number where we can reach you if we have any questions.
Here’s to warm weather, spring and all the fun it brings with it.
