SALUDA— The Polk County Unity Masonic Lodge #482, located at 662 Ozone Drive in Saluda, has announced a free community movie night on Saturday, July 19, commencing at 9 p.m.

This weekend’s feature presentation will be the inspiring film Soul Surfer. Previous monthly showings have delighted audiences with classics such as Back to the Future and The Goonies.

Attendees can enjoy complimentary popcorn and beverages while bringing their own chairs or utilizing the picnic tables available on site. The Masonic Lodge also intends to continue the movie nights into August and September, potentially extending into October, depending on weather conditions.

Mason David Guice shared how the initiative for the movie night originated during a car trip to another lodge.

“We discussed how we could create something free and family-friendly for the entire community,” he said. “When the movie night idea surfaced, Buddy Watkins ran with it, purchasing an inflatable screen and projector.”

The event is open to everyone, with a request for guests to clean up after themselves. Alcohol will not be permitted.
