Woman dies after tragic accident at Big Bradley Falls

SALUDA—A person has died after falling at a popular hiking destination in Polk County.
On Sunday, July 13, at approximately 1:30 p.m., Polk County Communications received a call reporting an accident involving a fall at Big Bradley Falls in Saluda, officials say. When emergency crews arrived, they discovered a female in her mid-to-late twenties had fallen an estimated 75 to 100 feet.
The female succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene

Multiple agencies responded to the incident, including Saluda Fire and Rescue, Mill Spring Fire Department, Polk County EMS, Polk County Emergency Management, and Polk County Sheriff’s Office. Henderson County Fire and Rescue also provided mutual aid.
Big Bradley and Little Bradley trails, as well as the 4000 block of Holbert Cove Road, were temporarily closed as emergency personnel conducted operations.
“Rescue personnel worked diligently to recover the victim,” said Polk County Public Information Officer Kellie Cannon. “We urge the public to exercise caution while visiting local trails and natural areas.”
