Polk County’s golf team started its season on a high note Monday, defeating East Henderson 177-190 in a nine-hole match at Meadowbrook Golf Club.

The Wolverines showcased depth and consistency across their lineup. Myles Menetre led Polk County with a 43, followed by Gage Harden, Tourin Jackson and Brody Wilkins each with 45s to round out the team’s scoring.

Also competing for the Wolverines were Piercen Edwards with a 47 and Tanner Osborn fired a 49. Addie Buss shot a 56, Tallis Metcalf recorded a 58 and Aiden Billings rounded out Polk’s participants with a 61.

East Henderson’s Jaden Seyller and Jackson Parker shared medalist honors, each posting a 40.

The Wolverines will look to build on their season-opening victory when they return to action Tuesday in a nine-hole match against Cherryville at Cherryville Country Club.
