TRYON—The Foothills Music Club met on Thursday, February 13, at the home of Carole Bartol. The theme for the program was “Second Chance – Music We Want to Play Again.”  

Members chose some of their favorite pieces from past performances that they wanted to present again. Included were selections for solo piano, piano duet, harmonica, and bassoon. Composers represented were Scott Joplin, Johann Fasch, Jay Ungar, Rachmaninoff, Debussy, Gordon Jacob, and Thomas Westendorf.

The Foothills Music Club is still accepting applications to audition for the Young Musicians Scholarships for 2025. Information and application forms can be obtained from Jeanette Shackelford at shackelford436@gmail.com or 828-859-0461. Applications must be postmarked by February 21.
