A Fairy Tale offers hair extensions, face glitter
COLUMBUS—The Columbus Winter Market has welcomed a new vendor this season, bringing a touch of magic to its bi-weekly gatherings.
A Fairy Tale, owned and operated by Samantha Reid from Mill Spring, showcases an enchanting collection of sparkly hair extensions and face glitter.
Reid’s offerings, dubbed “Fairy Hair,” come in a vibrant array of colors and can be tied into any customer’s hair that is at least two inches long. This whimsical accessory is designed to make anyone, young or old, feel a little more magical and has earned Reid the honorary title of “Fairy Godmother.”
“I started A Fairy Tale about two years ago, primarily doing extensions and face glitter for friends and family,” Reid said. “After participating in local pop-up events in Tryon and Hendersonville, I was encouraged to try the Columbus Farmers Market last summer. The success I found there, along with my experiences at the Columbus Fairy Festival, inspired me to join the Winter Market as well.”
Reid also specializes in face glitter, crafting numerous designs. Initially starting with face painting, she discovered that face glitter allowed for more creativity and fun.
“The face glitter is perfect for anyone looking to add a little sparkle to their lives,” Reid adds. “The world could always use a little more sparkle.”
Reid’s clientele spans many age groups and even includes residents from Tryon Estates. She also takes on special events, including bridal showers and birthday parties, and is available for individual appointments.

Located behind the Iron Key Brewing Company at 135 Locust St., the Columbus Winter Market runs every other Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Vendors interested in participating can sign up at polkcountyfarms.org.
