TRYON—The annual children’s theater festival will return to Tryon for Super Saturday on March 15. The all-day event will include ten different main stage shows, including Shepherd Shakespeare and Bright Star Theatre, in addition to free performances and local organizations offering free activities along Melrose Avenue.

Bright Star Theatre will perform two classic tales at the Tryon Theatre at 9:15 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. As these stories come to life before their eyes, audience members will dance at the ball with Cinderella and challenge the giant with Jack and the Beanstalk. Fun and interactive, this show is great for younger audiences or anyone young at heart.

At 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., Shepherd Shakespeare will present “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” at the Tryon Congregational Church. Featuring a mischievous fairy, a group of friends, a feuding king and the Queen of the Fairies, all lost and mixed up in the woods, the audience will discover midsummer magic in this one-man show

Children’s Theater Festival’s presentation of Super Saturday is supported by grants from the Mary F. Kessler Fund at the Polk County Community Foundation.
