Ribbon-cutting ceremony held for new businesses downtown
TRYON— On Thursday, January 16, the Carolina Foothills Chamber of Commerce hosted its monthly Business After Hours event at Tryon Rejuvenation Station, Balanced Weight Loss & Wellness, and MediPsych, located at 112 N. Trade Street.
The event started with a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony jointly held by the TDDA and Foothills Chamber for the three businesses in the space, all of which are dedicated to promoting wellness in the community.
Kelly Cudd, owner of Balanced Weight Loss & Wellness, led the ceremony by cutting the ribbon and expressing gratitude for the strong turnout.
“Not only are we celebrating our opening today, but we’re also excited to share our mission with other local business owners,” she said.
Reina Carroll, who operates the Rejuvenation Station, shared insights into her business, which offers a selection of energy shots, caffeinated teas, and nutritious high-protein, low-sugar meal replacement shakes.
“This business is family, and we’re so happy to be a part of Tryon,” Carroll remarked. “We invite the folks in Tryon to join us. We’re in it for the long haul.”
Adding to the lineup of speakers was Rhonda Cartee, a psychiatric nurse practitioner at MediPsych, who provides services aimed at overcoming challenges such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, and ADHD.
“I want you to become your best self,” she encouraged attendees, inviting anyone interested to schedule a consultation through her office.
Olivia Whiteside, the Chamber’s marketing manager, spoke at the ribbon-cutting ceremony about the collaboration with the Tryon Development Association.
“We’re excited to work together with the TDDA for this event, as it’s a fantastic way to unite our organizations for the benefit of the businesses we represent,” Whiteside stated.
Lourdes Gutierrez, executive director of the TDDA, echoed this sentiment.
“It’s great for both organizations to come together and focus attention on the local businesses we serve,” she said.
The After Hours event once again showcased the power of networking, allowing local business members to connect, share ideas, and support each other while enjoying light refreshments and beverages. The Rejuvenation Station added to the festive atmosphere by offering delicious free samples of their energy teas and protein shakes.
