Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat to run in January

 

SALUDA—Mountain Page Theater recently announced its upcoming production, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. The musical will run for two consecutive weekends at its venue in Saluda, with opening night set for Friday, January 10, at 7 p.m. It brings a modern twist to the biblical tale of Joseph.

The Broadway show, written by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, tells the story of Joseph, the favored son of Jacob, whose remarkable journey from despair to power in Egypt illustrates themes of family, dreams, and redemption. With unforgettable songs such as “Any Dream Will Do,” “Go, Go, Go, Joseph,” and “Close Every Door,” this production promises to captivate audiences of all ages with its lively score and colorful choreography.

Mountain Page Theater’s rendition of the musical features a talented local cast, including familiar faces from previous shows, making this a special event for long-time theatergoers. The production also showcases the next generation of performers, with five of Joseph’s brothers played by talented young actors aged 7 to 13. 

Directors Ashley Sandahl and Corinne Gerwe have collaborated closely with the cast and crew to bring this beloved musical to life in a refreshing yet faithful way. Mountain Page Theater is dedicated to empowering the community’s youth by providing a platform for nurturing young talent, helping them grow, learn, and find their voices through the magic of theater.
