Polk County is gathering information to assess damage to privately-owned property, specifically access bridges, culverts, and roads, caused by Tropical Storm Helene.
To do this, the county is asking affected citizens to fill out a quick online form focusing on damage to private-access infrastructure.
If residents have damage to a private road, culvert, or bridge, they are asked to take a moment to complete the form, include any repair cost estimates, and attach photos of the damage, if possible.
The information collected will be shared with the State of North Carolina and FEMA as they assess the need for assistance in repairing private bridges and roads.
Officials say that completing this survey does not guarantee repairs or financial assistance.
