COLUMBUS—Specialized Physical and Occupational Therapy recently celebrated its first anniversary. The clinic, located in the Columbus Commons Shopping Center at 155 W. Mills Street, has had an eventful year marked by growth and success.
The clinic’s founders, Sarah Compton and Karol Young, expressed gratitude for the community’s overwhelming support.
“Starting a new business is always scary, but with the overwhelming support from our community, we have had a great year,” Karol said.
Committed to providing high-quality, individualized care, the clinic specializes in rehabilitating individuals who aspire to return to an active lifestyle.
Compton, a certified lymphedema and oncology physical therapy specialist, brings a wealth of experience in treating neurological and orthopedic injuries. Young, an occupational and certified hand therapist, has extensive experience treating shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand conditions. Additionally, she is LSVT trained in the treatment of Parkinson’s disease.
During its first year, the clinic successfully worked to become in-network with Medicare and many other insurance companies. This accomplishment reflects its dedication to expanding accessibility and ensuring more individuals benefit from its specialized care.
Looking ahead, Specialized Physical and Occupational Therapy is expanding its services to include in-home consultations and treatments, aiming to serve the community better and assist individuals as they age.
