Dear Aunty Pam,
My husband is driving me crazy. He’s addicted to the prank videos on Instagram and TikTok so he’s been secretly filming me while he scares the crap out of me. He’ll hide in the closet with his phone and when I walk in the closet he yells and jumps out, or, like last night, he was hiding in the garage when I came home and jumped out when I was getting out of the car. He thinks it’s hilarious and I don’t. In fact, I dropped a bag of groceries and broke a carton of eggs when I got out of that car.
We have three young boys, and we both work full-time, so I’m really tired when I get home. I really let him have it after he scared me last night and told him to grow the heck up. He filmed that, too, kept laughing, and told me to lighten up. He also said he’s trying to get a bunch of ‘likes’ on TikTok to make extra money. I am so done with all this. How can I make him stop?
Frustrated wife
Dear FW,
Soooooo, the hubs enjoys scaring the bejeebus out of you AND posts it for the world to see without your permission? Then dismisses your complaint as if YOU are the problem? Holy Restraining Order, Batman, this speaks of a complete lack of respect tinged with cruelty. And that needs to be made clear to him, like, yesterday. It’s non-negotiable, baby.
Until then, one good prank deserves another. And nothing scares a man more than thinking he’ll work the rest of his life when a new baby is on the way. Take advantage of Amazon Prime Day and buy a couple of the fake ‘positive’ pregnancy kit wands. Take a pic of it and text it to him at work, and tell him the doc says, “It’s twins!”
Cheers, dears!!
