Annual concert moved outside this year

COLUMBUS—This year’s Tuba Christmas brought a different flare by taking the concert outside. 

Many gathered on Saturday to the Polk County Courthouse in Columbus to hear the annual Tuba Christmas. People brought their own chairs and gathered outside this year to be safe because of COVID-19. 

The annual concert is normally held at Polk County High School and includes a stage full of brass instruments. 

The celebration began almost 25 years ago when Dr. and Mrs. Stan Howell retired to Tryon Estates in Columbus.
