County COVID-19 cases up to 232
POLK COUNTY—Polk County added another 22 cases of COVID-19 this week, putting the county to 232 positive cases total.
Polk County issued another dashboard on Friday saying the county has had a total of 232 cases, up from 210 cases earlier this week. Polk County had 197 cases as of last Friday, then was up to 210 cases early in the week.
The county has still had 6 deaths from the virus, with 4 of those in the Saluda zip code and 2 of the deaths in the Tryon zip code, as of Friday.
Polk has had 4,193 total tests, with 3,873 of those tests negative. There are currently 179 patients presumed recovered and 19 tests pending, as of Friday. Polk County has an 8.3 percent positive county, which is up 1.2 percent from last week.
North Carolina had 151,912 cases as of Friday, with 2,494 total deaths, according to the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.
Of the state’s cases, Buncombe County had 2,214 cases and 64 deaths as of Friday; Henderson County had 1,627 cases and 59 deaths; Rutherford County had 867 cases and 17 deaths and Transylvania County had 206 cases and 1 death, according to the NCDHHS.
