McCreery Park closed; Harmon Field playground closed

POLK COUNTY—Local parks have closed playgrounds due to the potential spread of the Coronavirus. 

McCreery Park is closed as well as the playground at Harmon Field effective Tuesday, March 24. 

The entire McCreery Park is closed, while just the playground portion of Harmon Field is closed. 

Saluda City Manager Jonathan Cannon said the park is closed to the public to reduce the spread of the Coronavirus. 

“The virus remains on surfaces after the carrier leaves,” Cannon said. 

Harmon Field is much larger than McCreery Park and remains open otherwise for persons to walk and exercise.
