Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Just in time to get you in the mood for Thanksgiving, Tryon Little Theater presents “THE HUMANS,” by Stephen Karam. This play is a Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize winning play, directed by Joel Perkin.

This show is an unusual play in several ways. Its setting is a ramshackle tenement duplex apartment in New York City’s Chinatown. The action also takes place in one act with scenes floating into each other.

In the play, The Blake family (mother played by Donna Everett, father played by Lucas Laughter, grandmother played by Mollie Turner and sister played by Lori Lee) come from Pennsylvania to spend Thanksgiving with their daughter (played by Ellie Booth) and her boyfriend (played by Doug Denton), who have just moved into their apartment.

The play takes a twist when unexpected family secrets are exposed along with some feelings of fear that are all tied together with the real meaning and strength of “family.”

“THE HUMANS” runs for two weekends opening at the Tryon Little Theater Workshop at 516 S. Trade St. in Tryon on November 14th, playing weekend evenings at 7:30 PM through Sunday matinees at 3 PM, through November 24th
