A two cent tax increase that was earmarked for Schools and Public Safety, was really for the dam.  To recap: we have approximately $1,000,000 in a fund to repair the dam. The estimated total is $2.75 million.  A two cent tax increase is approximately $600,000 in revenue. That is a total of approximately $1.6 million. If we need $2.75 million for repairs then we are still $1 million short.  Watch for another two cent increase in 2021.

If we didn’t have the dam to repair then we would have had no tax increase.
