Board of adjustment to host public hearing on new wireless telecommunications facility Sept. 4

On Aug. 2, Wyatt Stevens, of Roberts & Stevens, attorneys at law for Beacon Towers-VA LLC, applied for a 175-foot monopole in a new wireless telecommunications facility on the property of John Thomas Toney, 2737 Landrum Road, Columbus.
The property is comprised of 10 acres and identified as Tax Parcel ID P98-33 on the tax records of Polk County. The property is located in the “Multiple Use” zoning district of Polk County.
A copy of the written application is available for review in the office of the county manager in the Womack Building, 40 Courthouse St., Columbus, and the planning office, 35 Walker St., Columbus.
The Polk County Board of Adjustment will review and consider the application for a “Conditional Use Permit” at its next meeting at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4, in the R. Jay Foster Hall of Justice in the Womack Building.
The board shall conduct a quasi-judicial hearing on the application, and shall allow any interested party to appear, either in person or by agent or attorney.
