Foothills Gymnastics Academy moves forward to state competition

Foothills Gymnastics Academy sent 12 gymnasts to Charlotte, North Carolina during the weekend of April 7 and 8 for the Pirates and Parrots competition.

The Foothills Gymnastics Xcel Bronze team included Banks Nix, Anna-Carlisle Keim, Beija Oivari, Lucy Boone Hyde, Zina Ishwar,  Elizabeth Fincher and Reeve Caroll.

Nix received first on beam, second on bars, second on floor, and first all around. Keim received fourth on floor, second on bar and fifth all around. Oivari received fourth on vault, fifth on bars, and seventh all around. Hyde received seventh on bars, ninth on floor, and tenth all around. Ishwar received sixth on beam, eighth on floor, and tenth all around. Caroll earned first on beam, first on floor, second on vault, second on bars and first all around. Though Fincher was placed in the wrong competition, she still demonstrated a strong performance and earned a medal.

The Foothills Gymnastics Xcel Silver team includes Brooklyn Jones and Grace Settles. Jones received a third on vault, third on bars, fifth on floor and third all around. Settles received second on floor, first on vault, first on bars and first on all around.

The Foothills Gymnastics Xcel Gold team includes Gabby Savaia, and Hurley Bell. Savaia earned fifth on floor, third in vault, third on bars and third all around. Bell won first in floor, fourth on bars and sixth all around. Bell performed a floor routine that earned the highest score of the FGA gymnasts, a 9.60.
