Bowl for Kids’ Sake planned for Nov. 11

Published 6:46 pm Monday, October 30, 2017

Bowl For Kids’ Sake, the signature fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters, will be held on Nov. 11 at Autumn Lanes in Forest City.

Each year half a million people across America come together through Bowl For Kid’s Sake to have fun and raise money to support Big Brothers Big Sisters as they change how children grow up. The event is a perfect way for individuals to have a positive impact on the community – it only takes a little bit of effort to raise pledges for support that is vital to the program’s success.

Sponsorships are still available for Team and Lane levels, and all will be acknowledged at the event and in various outlets.

As a “thank you” for such support and enthusiasm, Big Brothers Big Sisters hosts a celebratory party at a local bowling center. No bowling expertise is required, only the willingness to share in the gratitude for helping transform our community.

Big Brothers Big Sisters depends on donations to be able to conduct thorough background checks on volunteers to ensure child safety; and provide ongoing support for children, families and volunteers to build and sustain long-lasting relationships.

Area citizens’ role in this effort to help local children can not be overstated: BBBS needs help to raise community awareness of the challenges faced by local children and to get the support needed to help change the trajectory of a child’s life.

To get involved as a sponsor or team member, please contact the local BBBS organization at 828-859-9230, 899-9699 or polk@bbbswnc.org. Online donations can be made at www.firstgiving.com/bbbswnc/bowl-for-kids-sake-to-benefit-polk-county.
