Classic cars cruise into tryon

Tryon car lovers honored a little piece of history Friday, Sept. 22 when eight classic cars showed up at the railroad tracks downtown. The Tryon Classic Car Club’s first Fall Cruise-In was open to all classic cars 25 years and older. Traffic slowed down on McCown St. as drivers took a look at beautifully restored Corvettes, truck, and Thunderbirds. The wives enjoyed a cool drink while the “gear heads” (formerly known as car guys) talked camshafts and original parts. Here, Jim Cole and his wife Elaine are riding in style in their 1957 restoration modification (Re-mod) Corvette. (Photos by Catherine Hunter)
