Foreman

Foreman

Lennie’s Kids gala, the Rescue Rally, was a rousing success. All who attended have the utmost gratitude from me and all my kids, and includes the kids from the rescues who were featured along with Lennie’s kids.

Po’kitties, Pet Tender Angels, Foothills Humane Society, Service Animal Project, Paws, Prayers and Promises, along with Danielle Scruggs, Patti Peake and Bobbi Shannon — super rescuers, all!

I have never been in a room where this much love permeated the air. Because of all these like-minded people and those who support them we have turned the corner in our community where we now save far more animals than we lose.

Foreman was a stray from animal control that was picked up on May 9, 2016 and brought to the FHS shelter. This handsome boy was severely injured and totally blind.

Once antibiotics were administered he slowly began gaining a little vision. Through it all, this sweet boy was winning the hearts of all who met and worked with him. His friendly demeanor had much of the staff and volunteers telling me about him, knowing my love of the Boxer breed.

When I first met him he reminded me of my last male Boxer, Bruno. We decided that he may have been attacked by another animal and had some blunt force trauma to his head. A few weeks later one eye began turning red and was exhibiting inflammation. He was first sent to Bonnie Brae and became one of Lennie’s Kids, meaning my fund would handle expenses. He was then sent to the specialist at Upstate where it was recommended the eye be removed along with some other tumors.

As this tale is being told my sweet new friend, Foreman, is in the pipeline because Bonnie Brae may take him back to perform the necessary procedures needed. I have made it quite clear to everyone that whatever Foreman needs, he shall receive.

To all who came to my gala and others who continually support throughout the year, know this: you are my angels and are the reason we can help Foreman and others like him.

I consider myself a blessed man to know you all and all the rescues I’ve been privileged to work with through the years.

Thanks for being there and thanks for listening.
