Chimney Rock’s annual ‘Flock to the Rock’, Sept. 19

The region’s premier fall migration birding event is held at Chimney Rock, an official site on the NC Birding Trail, on Saturday, Sept. 19 from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. It will feature live birds of prey programs, including a Red-tailed Hawk and Great Horned Owl, bird walks led by local experts, special activities and amazing S.O.A.R. Birds in Flight shows! This event coincides with the annual hawk migration. Chimney Rock is home to 130+ species year-round, including warblers, vireos, tanagers, woodpeckers, thrushes, owls and birds of prey, like the Peregrine Falcon.
