Polk district court results

In Polk County District Court held Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013 with Judge Peter Knight presiding, 121 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.

The following persons were convicted of a crime:

Christian Abrams was convicted of assault on a female, assault by pointing a gun, assault with a deadly weapon with minor present and communicating threats. Abrams was sentenced to 36 months supervised probation and court costs.

Amanda C. Curcio was convicted of speeding 34 mph in a 25 mph zone. Curcio was sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation, a $100 fine and courts.

Brian Christopher Hipp was convicted of speeding 74 mph in a 65 mph zone. Hipp was fined $50 and court costs.

Amravlis Ladon Jones was convicted of possession of marijuana ½ ounce to one and ½ ounces and possession of drug paraphernalia. Jones was to pay court costs.

Pavel Kishka was convicted of speeding 80 mph in a 65 mph zone. Kishka was fined $10 and court costs.

Cassidy Nichol Moyer was convicted of failure to appear on misdemeanor. Moyer was sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation, a $100 fine and court costs.

Sherry Phillips was convicted of possession of stolen goods/property. Phillips was sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation, a $35 fine and court costs.

Floyd Alan Pierce was convicted of assault on a government official/employee and resisting public officer. Pierce was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for time served.

Allison Swartz Sweezy was convicted of shoplifting concealment goods. Sweezy was sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation, 24 hours of community service and court costs.

Ashley Nicole Werhan was convicted of unintentional littering greater than 15 lbs. Werhan was fined $25 and court costs.
