Each year District One Schools receives federal money that supports training, staff development, class size reduction and instructional programs. These include Title I, Title II, Title III, IDEA and Pre-School Disabled Funds. Next year, Title I funds will be used to support early intervention programs in the six elementary schools. Title II funds will be used to supplement other funds that are used to reduce class size in first grade. Title III funds will be used to support instruction for English Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). IDEA and Pre-School Disability funds are spent on special education students in the district to cover teacher salaries and instructional materials.
