PCHS cross country awards banquet

Polk County High School cross country teams held their annual awards banquet at Harmon Field Cabin in Tryon on Thursday, Nov. 17.
The Lady Wolverines finished second place in the Western Highlands Conference this season and had the school’s only state qualifier, senior Casey McDowell.
The coaching staff selected McDowell and senior Rebecca Elliott as co-most valuable runners.
Senior Anna Koenig received the coaches award. Sophomore Jacob Collins was selected the most valuable runner for the boys team. Seniors William Morse and Sam Vining were both honored with a coaches award. Sophomore Nicholas Morse received the most improved runner award.
