Jan. 26, 2011 session

In Polk County District Court held Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2011, with Judge Athena F. Brooks presiding, 194 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.

The following persons were convicted of a crime (names are as given in court records):

Joseph Alan Anderson was convicted of misdemeanor probation violation. Anderson’s probation was extended an additional 4 months from May 5, 2011.

Traves Dean Center was convicted of hunting without a license, hunting from a state road, hunting without a big game license and hunting from a motor vehicle. Center was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, a  $200 fine and court costs.

Brian Anthony Counts was convicted of injury to personal property, possession of drug paraphernalia and assault on a government official/employee. Counts was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, a $150 fine and court costs.

Amber Christine Cross was convicted of speeding 69 m.p.h. in a 65 m.p.h. zone. Cross was fined $15 and court costs.

Towles Dunbar Darby was convicted of speeding 54 m.p.h. in a 35 m.p.h. zone. Darby was fined $50 and court costs.

Shannon Odell Dobbins was convicted of level 5 driving while impaired. Dobbins was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, one day in jail, a $100 fine and court costs.

Robin Anthony Early was convicted of level 2 driving while impaired. Early was sentenced to 18 months supervised probation, 10 days in jail, a $400 fine and court costs.

Robin Anthony Early was convicted of assault with a deadly weapon. Early was sentenced to 18 months supervised probation.

John Wylie Face was convicted of level 5 driving while impaired and open container after consumption of alcohol first. Face was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, 24 hours of community service, a $100 fine and court costs.

Morgan Daniel Finley was convicted of level 5 driving while impaired. Finley was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, one day in jail, a $100 fine and court costs.

John Paul Gosselin was convicted of common law uttering and misdemeanor larceny. Gosselin was sentenced to 5 days in jail with credit for time served.

Rolland Guggi was convicted of consumption of alcohol by under 19 year old. Guggi was fined $42 and court costs.

Carroll Ray Hyder was convicted of level 5 driving while impaired. Hyder was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, 24 hours of community service, a $100 fine and court costs.

Lindsey A. Landgrebe was convicted of speeding 90 m.p.h. in a 65 m.p.h. zone. Landgrebe was fined $50 and court costs.

Jean Hobaugh Lessig was convicted of operating a vehicle with impaired equipment. Lessig was fined $40 and court costs.

Rodger Alan Mason was convicted of hunting from a state road, hunting from a motor vehicle, hunting without a big game license and hunting with no hunting license. Mason was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, a $200 fine and court costs.

Philip Daniel Matthews was convicted of operating a vehicle with impaired equipment. Matthews was fined $40 and court costs.

William W. McFalls was convicted of level 5 driving while impaired. McFalls was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, 24 hours of community service, a $100 fine and court costs.

Catharine Luci Miller was convicted of second degree trespassing. Miller was fined $60 and court costs.

Hilario R. Ramirez was convicted of operating a vehicle with no operator’s license. Ramirez was fined $50 and court costs.

Wesley Cullen Simon was convicted of possession of marijuana up to ½ ounce and simple possession of a schedule IV controlled substance. Simon was fined $75 and court costs.

Jeffery R. Troyer was convicted of speeding 49 m.p.h. in a 40 m.p.h. zone. Troyer was fined $40 and court costs.

Franklin Stanley Ward was convicted of possession of marijuana up to ½ ounce. Ward was sentenced to 24 hours of community service and court costs.

Chia Yang was convicted of exceeding game limit. Yang was fined $100 and court costs.

Daniel Perry was convicted of speeding 64 m.p.h. in a 55 m.p.h. zone. Perry was fined $40 and court costs.

Jan. 28, 2011 session

In Polk County District Court held Friday, Jan. 28, 2011, with Judge Pete Knight presiding, 92 cases were heard. Some cases were continued, dismissed or sent to superior court.

The following persons were convicted of a crime (names are as given in court records):

Sybastian M. Buckle was convicted of four counts of misdemeanor breaking and/or entering and misdemeanor larceny after breaking and/or entering. Buckle was sentenced to 70 days in jail with credit for time served.

Joseph Allen Burdett was convicted of level 5 driving while impaired. Burdett was sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation, 24 hours of community service, a $100 fine and court costs.

Leon Nolan Burgess was convicted of fleeing to elude arrest with a motor vehicle, speeding 65 m.p.h. in a 45 m.p.h. zone, failure to wear seat belt – driver and reckless driving to endanger. Burgess was sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation, a $100 fine and court costs.

James C. Harrelson was convicted of second degree trespassing. Harrelson was sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation and court costs.

Jon Alan Jensen was convicted of level 6 driving while impaired. Jensen was sentenced to 12 months unsupervised probation, 24 hours of community service, a $100 fine and court costs.

Natasha Lowe was convicted of possession of open container/consumption of alcohol in passenger area. Lowe was fined $50 and court costs.

Henry Aaron Pruitt was convicted of shoplifting concealment goods. Pruitt was sentenced to 3 days in jail with credit for time served.

William Curtis Pruitt was convicted of speeding 44 m.p.h. in a 35 m.p.h. zone. Pruitt was fined $40 and court costs.

Lee Ann Ruff was convicted of level 5 driving while impaired. Ruff was sentenced to one year unsupervised probation, 24 hours of community service, a $100 fine and court costs.

Chase Simmons was convicted of possession of malt beverage/unfortified wine while not 19 or 20 years old. Simmons was fined $30 and court costs.
