PC Players present ‘Dearly Beloved’

Frankie Futrell Dubberly has practically worked herself to death to give her daughter a lovely “Gone With the Wind” themed wedding. But, 20 minutes before the ceremony starts, the bride and groom can’t be found, Frankie’s prodigal sister shows up looking for husband number six, and Frankie is certain her husband Dub is cheating on her with the woman who crashed the wedding.
All this sets the scene in the PC Players production of “Dearly Beloved,” which plays at the high school auditorium Thursday, Nov. 18 and Saturday, Nov. 20 at 7:30 p.m.
The comedy continues, too. There’s a side of beef and two pigs cookin’ in a pit out back of the church a UPS man is going to conduct the ceremony and Frankie’s other sister Twink has ensured that there will be plenty to eat at the reception. After all, thrifty Twink figures catering the event is just too darn expensive, so she had the wedding guests all bring a covered dish.
Just when things can’t seem to get any crazier, the groom’s nouveau riche mother announces she has paid off her son to leave the bride standing at the altar.
Tickets will be available at the door or by calling 828-894 -2525 ext. 261.
