William Dathan Holbert, who was arrested last week in connection with the slayings of two Americans and the disappearances of three other U.S. citizens and two Panamanians, formerly lived in Polk County.

Documents show Holbert, accused of murder, and his former wife separated in 2004 and they divorced in Polk County. They were married for about six years and had three children who are now ages 7, 9 and 10.

The jailed former Polk County man has admitted killing five other Americans so he could take over their businesses and other properties in a Panamanian resort area, a government prosecutor said.
