The Lady Wolverines broke a 3-3 tie with a run in the top of the seventh to secure a 4-3 victory over Rosman in non-conference action Wednesday.
Jamie Hrobak, a sophomore, came through with the RBI to put Polk ahead. She also had another strong performance on the mound, finishing with a complete game and the win.
She allowed five hits and three walks and struck out 10 in seven innings.
Senior outfielder Nikki Williams was a big catalyst for the Lady Wolverines offensively. She was a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate, and scored two of the teams runs.
The win improved Polk Countys record to 14-5 overall as the team nears the end of the regular season. The Lady Wolverines are scheduled to face Thomas Jefferson today.
