Tryon Painters and Sculptors is having a showing of Margaret Brown Daviss (Mrs. Seth Davis) paintings. Starting Sunday, February 21, with a reception from 5 to 7 p.m. The public is invited.
Davis started painting with her grandfather M. L. Brown, a highly successful artist in both New York and Paris, and then she grew up, married and had six children. After her children were grown, she studied nursing and after retiring she got back to painting again.
Her works of local scenes capture the beauty and charm of our area. Her paintings will be on display in the Mahler room at the Tryon Fine Arts Center beginning Sunday, February 21.
