Inman officials report that it made a payment to an unknown party
INMAN—The Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office recently announced an investigation is underway after the City of Inman filed a report that it had fallen victim to a scam.
On Friday, June 20, Inman officials reported that it had made a payment to an unknown party instead of the contractor who was owed the payment. The payment amount has not been released as the investigation is ongoing.
SCSO says it has begun an investigation and communicated with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division and the Federal Bureau of Investigation to explore all possible avenues of support.
“This investigation is active,” said SCSO Lieutenant Graham McLellan. “There is no further information available at this time.”
