COLUMBUS—On Wednesday, May 21, the Carolina Foothills Chamber of Commerce celebrated the launch of Dream Haven Farm’s inaugural camp season with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony. Located at 1487 Hayes Road in Columbus, the event featured tours of the farm and opportunities for attendees to learn more about the upcoming camp offerings.
The farm offers horse riding lessons, providing comprehensive horsemanship and equine education tailored to various age groups and skill levels. Additionally, Dream Haven serves as the host for all 4-H Club equestrian programs, giving 4-H members opportunities to engage in a variety of equine-centered activities. Dream Haven Farm is dedicated to creating a serene and welcoming environment for anyone interested in horses, regardless of age or experience level.
“We take pride in our close-knit barn family that was built upon opening our family up to yours,” said owner Alexa Moran.
Moran has been passionate about horses her entire life, aspiring to own her own equestrian center. She finds joy in competitive riding and the day-to-day care of the horses, striving to be the best mom, coach, and horsewoman possible.
“I’m a mother of three kids, so I built Dream Haven and designed the summer camps with kids in mind,” Moran says. “My goal is to teach them responsibility and discipline that comes with various activities, from horseback riding, caring for horses and other animals, gardening, and animal husbandry.”
Dream Haven will offer themed camps catering to different age groups and experience levels this summer. These weeks will immerse riders in educational and engaging topics such as horse care, vet care, and farming. Notable camps include “First Timers,” “Cowboy/Girl Camp,” and “Horse Show 101,” with a schedule that runs through July and early August.
The specific dates for Day Camp sessions are slated for June 2-6; June 16-20; June 23-27; June 30-July 4; July 14-18; July 21-25; and July 28-August 1.
“Dream Haven is all about community involvement, teaching lifelong lessons and getting kids outside enjoying nature,” Moran adds.
