Mike Heston, a Columbus native who recently retired after 30 years with Frito-Lay, is the proud owner of the operation. Inspired by his childhood dream of running a hot dog stand, Heston meticulously researched the business for several years before launching his venture. The stand is named after its mascot, a stylish wiener dog sporting a distinctive mustard mustache.

The stand serves all-beef hot dogs on brioche buns, toasted on both sides.

“We made sure to have the best all-beef hot dogs, and I’ve always felt that bread is a big part of a delicious sandwich,” Heston shared. “I wanted my customers to get a little bit of a crisp when they bite into a Doggystyle hot dog.”

In addition to their signature dogs, Heston offers homemade chili made from scratch, alongside Lays potato chips and a selection of Pepsi products.

The hot dog stand is not just a fixed location; it also caters to events, having participated in events at the Fitzgerald and the Tryon International Film Festival.

Heston encourages everyone, “Come try the best hot dogs you’ve never had.”

Doggystyle is currently open Wednesday through Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Patrons eager to keep up with the stand’s locations and special events are encouraged to follow them on Facebook. For inquiries, interested parties can contact dogstylenc@gmail.com.
